web grafix

Another fixation … web grafix. Since I am an "old school" graphic design student, the next step was, naturally … web design.

The links in the "web" column to the right illustrate a few examples of web grafix that I have worked on recently.

the need

This site was done for an existing Oshawa bar, Excuses (established in 1988) that is now under New Management. The new site was launched right before Christmas 2011.

my design

Although this was an established business with an existing logo, they did not have an editable version of their logo.

So, for this project, I began with the creation of a newly formatted logo (using Adobe Illustrator CS5).

I then created the background image using a couple of illustrations purchased from istockphoto and a combination of Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop.

Next, I began coding with XHTML and CSS, as well as PHP and JavaScript, since this website also required the development of an online reservation form.

I also incorporated a new (to me) CSS technique, called a sprite for the "Regular Events" button image, and one for the footer button image link to wired2grafix.
