Become a Competitor
People who wish to jump competitively will practice twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday nights. They also will have extra practice time when an event is coming up to make sure routines are in tiptop shape. There are 4 different levels of competition.
The following outlines the different levels and gives an overview of what you will learn.
Beginners must be able to compile a routine consisting of a pike jump, seat drop, twist to feet, tuck jump, back drop, front drop back to seat, tuck jump, jump turn, and straddle jump.
A novice routine will consist of a pike jump, seat drop, swivel hips, twist to feet, tuck jump, front drop, back to feet, straddle jump, back drop, and twist to feet.
Junior routines consist of jump full turns, tuck jump, seat drop, swivel hips, twist to feet, pike jump, front drop back to feet, straddle jump, barani, and front tuck.
The senior level must consist of a back tuck, tuck jump, seat drop, swivel hips, twist to feet, pike jump, airplane back to feet, straddle jump, barani, and front tuck.
