airbrush grafix
This project was an exercise in both "hand lettering" and wildlife airbrush illustration techniques.
the need
This sign was done for my sister and her husband to promote sales. They have a number of bee hives on their property from which they regularly produce honey.
the fix
my sign
I first prepped the sign board by painting it with a white enamel on the front and sides and an outdoor stain on the back, so that it could withstand the elements outdoors.
I researched honey bees (so that I could portray a realistic bee) and cut out my letter masking by hand. After the airbrush work was complete, I had it clear coated to seal the finish beautifully.
