airbrush grafix

This year (2010) the Papa Joe Memorial Ride (an annual motorcycle run that raises money for cancer) will be held at Zorba’s Bar & Grill, 561 Lakeshore Drive, North Bay, Ontario with registration from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 29th, 2010.

the need

Back in the spring of 1999, Don Lefebvre (one of Papa Joe Lefebvre’s nine children) approached me to airbrush a sign, for the annual bike run.

the fix

Sign for Papa Joe Annual Bike Ride

the portrait

The sign was painted on a 4 ft. x 6 ft white board. Don provided me with a beautiful pencil portrait of Papa Joe sketched by another artist (I'm not sure what the original artist’s name was … unfortunately), that I used for reference. To reflect Papa Joe Lefebvre’s passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, I also incorporated the Harley logo "fascimile" (with Papa Joe’s "stats" on it).

The work was done at Joe Lefebvre’s (Papa Joe’s youngest son’s) garage and is still displayed every year (to my knowledge) at the annual bike run.
